It was nice to get away and become one with nature. Although it was beautiful I would only suggest stay in Coba for two nights max. There isn’t much to do besides seeing the ruins and enjoying the cenotes. There is no nightlife. All of the restaurants close early and honestly there are not that many to choose from. Initially I stared to take the local bus there however I found a tour company that ended up charging me $50 per person for my friend and I, which included lunch and a stop at a local cenote. This was a steal because initially the tour was priced at $100 and we talked the agency down, way down! We were NOT willing to spend that type of money for one tour. One thing I have learned from traveling is always negotiate the price upfront. For this trip I opted for an iconic Thai style resort. Farmer’s Resort provided just that. Located on a rice field and overlooking a lotus pond, Farmer’s Resort provided the tranquility that I desired. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. In order to get there I had two options. Option one, fly for $125 each way or option two, take a bus for 5 hours to Donsak Pier for $16 and then a ferry to the first island I was visiting, Koh Samui. I opted for option two.
